JT's best yet -and something of a departure from her earlier work. No dead bodies, but rather a thoughtful exploration of... well, an exploration of sex, lies, and silver tea set. Yep. All ties together. He characters are -as always, vivid and believable. Max & Edie shows up, but a little off to the side. What most strikes me is the sense of "There but for the grace of God, go I" and it must be said that I lived a pretty pedestrian life. A small hiccup back in the day (of my youth) can come home to roost many years later. (I know -a tortured mixed metaphor.)Product details

I saved this 'latest' as my Christmas gift to myself! Great story, utterly absorbed, I galloped through it so fast the end was like falling off a cliff. JT's stories ending (no more words to read...) are hard for me! As always, fascinating characters living colorful, complicated lives woven through and cleverly tied up by Lt Max. More please!!!
Years ago JT told me she should "just write" and, boy, does she! She was always a storyteller blessed with an old soul's sense of humor. Good on you, JT Valentine. I love the trip into your imagination. Thanks for letting me come along!
I really love JT Valentine 's books.. There is always a mystery to solve and I always enjoy trying to see if I can solve it before the last pages of the book......Another enjoyable read, looking forward to the next one...!!!😉😋😊😘💞💞💞💞
I have to say that this is the best one yet. It certainly points clearly to the downsides of keeping secrets from, let alone lying to, one's spouse! I enjoyed it, found the complex plot believable and liked how It ended. It worked for me to make Max a lesser player too and focus the story thru the Brodys.
Well JT did it again. But even better. The story line held your interest and the characters, old and new, are all so real. I felt I knew these people. JT has become my favorite author. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to next book. Thank you JT for wonderful entertainment.
I liked the way the plot wound around the several characters in the book. We do have attitudes as to what has happened, and it is fun to see what actually happened. It is kind of funny how lives weave about and get back to the beginning. Looking forward to reading more of her misteries.
I dropped in on the Brody family as JT Valentine suggested, and I had a great time. She's written a fascinating story about their well-intentioned but muddled lives. These folks have too many secrets for their own good. Someone has to intervene on their behalf, and of course, it's Max. He's his usual helpful and hilarious self. His banter with Chief and Dan Darocy made me laugh out loud. A fun read at Christmas or any other time. Give yourself a little present and buy this book. You'll love it.
